Collection: Restoration and Cleaning
I have been restoring rugs for more than 38 years, a craft I learned from my older brother in Iran.
Each case is different, when received, the rug is photographed to inform the client about its condition to then proceed with the restoration that includes tasks such as:
- Exact colour and wool match – important when dealing with antique rugs and where possible we re-use old materials similar in age to the rug.
- Re-weaving and re-piling of worn areas – often due to moth damage.
- Fixing curled edges and corners by applying straps.
-Repairing holes and damage to the original appearance.
- Securing ends and sides
- New fringes
- New sides
