Antique Persian Heriz Serapi Carpet

This is a Heriz Serapi carpet, a type of Persian rug that is famous for its bold and geometric designs, and its high-quality and durable wool. This Heriz Serapi carpet was made in the late 19th or early 20th century in the region of Heriz, also known as Serab, in the province of East Azerbaijan in northwest Iran. The carpet features a classic medallion in the center, with four corner spandrels and a diamond-shaped field in shades of red, blue, yellow, and ivory. The border consists of a wide and rare band of stylized flowers, animals, and symbols, creating a unique and striking drawing. The carpet is made of very fine wool that was dyed with natural dyes, giving it a wonderful and varied color palette. The wool is soft and glossy, and the pile is even and thick, indicating that the carpet is in very good condition. This carpet is a beautiful and valuable collector’s item, as Heriz Serapi carpets are considered to be among the most sought-after and admired of all Persian rugs. This carpet would add a touch of character and charm to any room.
