Vintage Afshar rug
A wonderful vintage Afshar rug is a type of handwoven rug that is produced by the Afshar tribe, a semi-nomadic group of Turkic origin that lives mainly in the regions of Kerman and Yazd in Iran. The Afshar rugs are known for their geometric patterns, rich colours, and fine quality wool. They often feature a central medallion and corner pieces, as well as smaller motifs in the border that resemble birds or animals. The Afshar rugs are dyed with natural dyes, giving them a warm and varied colour palette. A pretty antique Afsihar rug with wonderful drawing and amazing colours would be a valuable and rare collector's item, as Afshar rugs are considered to be among the most sought-after and admired of all Persian rugs. However, the rug may also have some signs of wear and tear, such as low pile and worn condition, due to its age and use.
